The project will include opportunities to participate in public consultation.
The purpose of the initial public consultation in May 2018 was to seek initial views from the public and other interested parties in relation to the key issues that the study should address, discuss options to manage the flood risk in the area, and to highlight points of local importance that might constrain the design and/or viability of any potential flood alleviation measures.
As part of Stage I, there will be a Public Consultation presenting the options identified in the options assessment and the emerging preferred scheme will be presented. Members of the public, local residents, stakeholders and other interested parties will be afforded the opportunity to comment on the presented options. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, alternative arrangements for the public exhibition will have to be made, possibly in the form of a virtual event. This Public Consultation will take place towards the end of 2020, with further details to be announced over the coming months.
